An Experienced Model / Runway Coach
I am Valencia Walker also known as Atlanta's Runway Diva. I was born and raised in Atlanta Georgia. I knew at the tender age of nine years old that I wanted to be a model. While in elementary school, one day we had a career day event, at that time I thought I wanted to be a nurse ( at least that's what my mom wanted me to be) so naturally I went to the nurses station to learn about nursing, but all the other little girls went to the model agency station. So when we came back to home room, all the other little girls came back with a compact mirror and a makeup bag. I came back with a pamphlet about nursing. I was extremely disappointed. So being the girly girl that I am, at that very moment I decided I wanted to pursue a career in modeling. I did my first fashion show at age 9 on the playground during recess. Fast forward to age 19. I auditioned for a show at Morehouse College, and I found out that day, that the cute little girl model walk I had as a nine year old did not go over well at 19 years old. I learned I didn't know how to "walk". But I didn't let that deter me. So I began watching channel E ( we didn't have Youtube back then ) to learn how to walk. Since I've always had a certain swagger to my walk, learning to walk correctly came quite naturally. Fast forward again to age 22. I did a pageant for Bovanti Cosmetics and began modeling for the company afterwards. From then on I was hooked. Over the years my walk has evolved and has become the confident, strong and poised walk it is today, which has made me a runway favorite amongst fashion show producers, designers, photographers, hair stylist, makeup artist and even other models. I definitely have that IT factor . As a model I have several stellar moments that I'm quite proud of, but my most proud moment was in 2015 when I walked for Lisa Nicole Cloud formerly of "Married to Medicine" for her Fashion For a Cause Fashion Show in New York city. Today in 2018 my passion for runway and fashion has become my business. I currently train ladies and girls of all walks (no pun intended). I not only focus on runway techniques, but poise and confidence on and off the runway, so you don't have to be an aspiring model to be a model citizen. Although I enjoy training ladies, runway modeling will always be my baby. My greatest aspiration is to one day walk for the Annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show. I know that sounds farfetch, but I still believe it can happen. You cease to live the day you stop dreaming and I have a-lot of living to do.
Runway Coaching
I currently offer runway coaching for women and girls ages 5 and up. My classes are 2 hours long and will focus on runway techniques,poise, posing. posture and confidence. These classes are great for someone who's never modeled as well as aspiring models who want to perfect their walk . I also have techniques for ladies who are looking to have that poised and confident swag as they enter a room for a class reunion or event. Motivational Speaking
I am now available for motivational speaking engagements . My speeches focus on never giving up on your dreams and believing in yourself no matter what obstacles you face. As a little girl I was not accepted by my peers because I was tall skinny and lanky. For that reason I was picked on a lot. But through it all I believed that I could be much more. I'd like to share my story of how I continued to believe in myself through non support, bad relationships and a stagnant job to persevere toward greatness. I will share my story as a source of inspiration for other women and young girls.
